By your wounds we are healed

This is a mixed media painting. Size: 15cm x 15cm x 1.8cm. I painted on 19th of March 2023.

In the world, there are so many disasters, much sadness and sufferings. Sometimes, it overwhelms us. The earthquakes, floods, pandemics, wars, trafficking, diseases, betrayal, and broken relationships…..yet there is the ONE who suffered all and carried all our burdens for us. Not only is He able to heal our hearts, He can transform us and make us new if we allow Him to.

This song is dedicated to the passover lamb, our hope and salvation, Jesus Christ.

The lyrics are as below:

My heart’s over-whelmed,
I need you, I need you, Yeshua Elohim.

My heart’s over-whelmed,
I need you, I need you, my Lord Yeshua.

You were pierced for our transgressions,
You were crushed for our iniquities,
The punishment that brought us peace was upon You.

By your wounds, I am healed,
By your wounds, I am healed,
Woo Woo Woo ~

In my distress, I cry out to you, Elohim Yeshua.
By your wounds, I am healed. I am healed. I am healed.

Revive My Heart

Mixed media. Size: 24.50cm x 35.00cm x1.50cm
This painting was done during October and November 2022

I started this painting as a title of a wounded heart last October in 2022, as I journey along to this new year, I changed the tile as ” Revive my heart. ”

Yes, it was wounded and painful. Yet during this period of experience from last year, I glimpsed a tiny bit of the Lord’s suffering, and His broken heart for us all. While he was wounded for us, He said, ” Father, forgive them, they don’t know what they are doing! ”

Brokenness draws us closer to His heart, it’s a refining process, and I saw His mercy and compassion, the glimpse of His suffering brings the light of healing.

He is reviving my heart and making something new.

Here is the song that comes with this painting.

The Storm

Mixed media. Size: 24.50cm x 35.00cm x1.50cm
This painting was done during November and December 2022

YOU are with me in the storm.
The waves are up and down, and I am tossed around.
Yet YOU are with me.

It’s still raining, the wind is still blowing.
Yet YOU are with me.

YOU are with me always though sometimes I don’t see
Your steady hands surrounding me & comforting me

In the midst of storm
YOU give me hope
I know YOU are taking me to my destination

From last November to December (2022), ” Praise You In This Storm ” a song by ” Casting Crowns. ” speaks to my situation a lot. Months of emotional turmoil comes with this painting.

It was a miracle month in December, through much sickness, struggling with physical and emotional tumoil, my FATHER brought many people on our journey to speak words of life to me and my family.

In the new year of 2023, I feel like I have come out from the storm, and I begin to see the rays of sun, therefore, this piano song also births out of the storm. It’s called ” He is with me in the Storm. ”

Rain on me, Abba

Size: 18cm x 24cm, mixed media with acrylic and oil paints, glossy varnish.

I painted this painting and composed this song during the hot summer in August 2022. It represents many hearts’ crying out for justice and righteousness in the land where we live.

” Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you. ”

by Hosea

Look at the painting and listen to the song!

In remembrance of Don Ward

Donald George Ward
8th/Jan/1952 – 8th/June/2021

It has been one year after Don passed away. He was my daughter’s favourite uncle, we family had so many fun outdoor memories with him when we visited family in Blenheim.

Don was man of adventure, a shepherd, a silver-smith, a builder, a hunter, a husband, a father, a person who loved nature, his wife & son. A man that we all will miss.

We are waiting and looking forward to the day that we will see him again in our heavenly home.

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd;
 I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for His Name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me:
Your rod and Your staff comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You have anointed my head with oil,
my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy will
follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of Lord forever.

In memory of Judith McFadyen

“Because of the tender mercy of our God,
by which the rising sun will come to us
from heaven
to shine on those living in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

Judith McFadyen, my mother in law, has gone Home to be with my father in law today around 5.30am New Zealand time.

I did this sketch for her as a gift in 2011. She is with her deceased husband and her 4 lovely adult children.

In sadness, she has left her children. In joyfulness, she is gone Home to be with our Lord Jesus, and be reunited with her beloved husband. No more pain and suffering.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. ” (John 11:25 NKJV)

Life is short, like a breath of vapour. I am grateful that she brought life to my precious and wonderful husband years ago.

The Burning Bush

This painting was done over two years period of time, layer by layer.

Mixed media on canvas
195.0cm x 120.5cm x 4.3cm

The burning bush
A blazing of flame from within
Yet not consumed by the fire

It’s the holy ground
Where Moses met the eternal God
The voice said ” I will certainly be with you. “

This was where the story all began
Moses confronted the pharaoh
” Let my people go “
The Hebrews came out of slavery

This is where we can all be transformed
when we encounter the living God

The galaxy

Psalm 19: 1-4 (NKJV)

The heaven declares the glory of God,
and the firmament show His handiwork.

Day unto day utters speech,
and night unto night reveals knowledge.

There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.

In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun.

Musical Diptych and the letterbox

Artwork Description:

Mixed media on canvas Size: 30cm x 40cm x 3.5cm.(L) 30cm x 22.5cm x 3.5cm. (R)

This work expresses my passion for music and the way it visually resonates. When I hear sounds of the piano or violin it paints an atmosphere and leaves an impression.

From canvas to our letterbox, from 2D to 3D, from mixed media to oil paints.

I decorated our letter box with the scripture from Psalm 9:9 to match with our residential number.

The LORD will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in time of trouble.

Psalm 9:9
